Ultrasonic waves propagating in liquids under magnetic fields influence in velocity, amplitude and frequency. Generation of shear waves in water under magnetic field is also another characteristic phenomenon. From the analysis of velocity of SH-waves and expression of reflection coefficients from solid interface underlying water layer, substituting parametric values changes are observed in velocity and reflection coefficients. Relations between initial pressure and magnetic field in layered media are also discussed. Considering the earth's magnetic field spreading throughout all materials in the upper crust the present investigations may be useful in underwater magnetoultrasonics. Keywords

Investigations are made for the effect of external magnetic field on the wave generated as a combination of both electrical and ultrasonic vibrations from piezoelectric crystals by the application of an alternating voltage from a resonant frequency oscillator. The Lorentz field developed influences the amplitude of the so called magnetoultrasonic wave. Mathematical expressions derived for waves propagating in the second liquid medium are analyzed and observations made are in qualitative agreement with experiment as regards amplification due to frequency of the oscillator, other parametric constants of the media and external magnetic field.- Magnetoultrasonics for the Measurement of Concentrations of Electrolytic Solutions
